Reporting to the Global Head of People & Culture Strategy & Portfolio, this highly visible position is responsible for executing enterprise-wide strategic workforce planning in partnership with organizational development incumbents across the GBUs and GFs. The incumbent will establish and monitor strategic workforce plans that define and enable Sanofi’s journey towards establishing competitive advantage through key organizational capabilities. The incumbent will also work in close partnership with the Global Head of Capability Operations to ensure work is aligned with skills and capabilities taxonomies and technologies.

The incumbent will be strategic, deeply knowledgeable about people & culture (human resources), organizational development, strategic workforce planning methodology, process, implementation, and monitoring. Previous experience in global, regional, and country roles is highly preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders to understand their strategic goals and translate them into actionable workforce plans

  • Develop and implement strategic workforce plans to align with the company’s long-term ambitions, financial plans/budgets, pipeline, and competitive forces

  • Analyze workforce data and trends to forecast future workforce needs and identify gaps.

  • Leverage existing Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) methodology and continue to improve the methodology and steps for simplification and efficiency

  • Collaborate with Heads of Organization Development in the GBUs/GFs to establish credible strategic workforce plans and accurately project supply/demand and the build of iterative organizations that will help us reach our 2030 ambition

  • Lead the integration of SWP with other COEs i.e., Talent & Learning on skills, talent management, demand planning, succession pipeline utilization to ensure a full end to end view of strategic workforce planning

  • Identify and partner with key stakeholders to mitigate risks related to workforce planning, including skill shortages and talent pipeline issues

  • Partner with the Global Head of Organization Design and Global Head of Organization Change & Readiness to develop strong end to end implementation plans that are connected to overall corporate goals and transformations

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of workforce planning initiatives

  • Leverage the usage of existing technology to drive SWP in partnership with the P&C Technology Strategy team

  • Develop SWP capabilities in the broader People & Culture (P&C) community e.g., People Business Partners to ensure the work and decisions are being taken as close as possible to the right business leaders

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in workforce planning and incorporate them into the company’s strategy

Travel: 10-15%

About You

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with proven experience leading strategic workforce planning initiatives including demonstrated experience of leading organizations through iterative models towards end state organizations

  • Experience with leading cross-functional and global teams including leadership through influence

  • A blend of consulting and in-house/industry work experience preferred

  • Highly knowledgeable in organizational design methodologies and tools

  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization including senior leadership teams

  • Clear communicatory and storyteller including via PowerPoint/slides production

  • Experienced or open to learn about technology, AI, and a data-driven decision maker; experience with organization modelling tools a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, or human resources ideal; advanced degrees in industrial/organizational psychology a plus

  • Experience or project work across multiple industries preferable including life sciences, manufacturing, sales, etc.

  • Fluent in English; French is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
