The Logistics Coordinator position is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to both to the Logistics Operations shop floor, and Manager, Logistics Operations. The position plays a critical role in the daily/weekly activity planning, shipment processing and shipment status documentation and communication.

The role works closely with the International Customer Service (ICS) within Materials Management to coordinate and process international shipments from the SWT site. The Logistics Coordinator is expected to be the Logistics Ops. SME related to cold chain, packing and shipping procedures, and acts as the Screening Supervisor for shipments processed in accordance with U.S. TSA Regulations.

The position is responsible for the procurement and inventory management of critical Logistics Ops. components and supplies required for outbound shipping, including but not limited to passive shipping containers, refrigerants (gel packs, dry ice, etc.), ocean transport thermal components, temperature monitors, tamper-evident-technology, labels, etc.

The Logistics Coordinator will also be required to obtain and maintain required certifications to operate material handling equipment, and process shipments in accordance with Dangerous Goods/Hazmat and/or TSA regulations. The role will also be expected to process all SAP required transactions in a timely and compliant manner.

Main Responsibilities:

Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate daily/weekly shipment activity, to meet internal and external customer required delivery timelines.

  • Work closely with International Customer Service (ICS) on the handoff, scheduling and physical processing of international shipments.

  • Procurement and inventory management of critical Logistics Ops. components and supplies, required for outbound shipping (passive shipping containers, refrigerants (gel packs, dry ice, etc.), ocean transport thermal components, temperature monitors, tamper-evident-technology, labels, etc.)

  • Act as Screening Supervisor for air shipments processed in accordance with TSA regulations. Support quarterly and annual TSA audit processes.

  • Coordinate finished goods and WIP cold-chain truckload transfer activity, working with the Sanofi FFIP Staging and Distribution Center teams, as well as offsite 3PL cold storage.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for cold-chain packing and shipping processes.

  • Processing of outbound shipments in a safe and compliant manner, following all DG regulations, cold chain requirements, chain of custody and TSA regulations.

Shipping Documents/Metrics

  • Generation of shipping related documents (packing lists, bill of lading and any Sanofi GMP documents that may be required for shipment).

  • Working with ICS to obtain Airway Bills, Dock Receipts and Country of Origins. TSA screening is an integral part of the process, so accurate generation of all TSA required documentation, screening procedures, tagging/labeling, and document filing will also be required.

  • Managing the department shipment metrics will also be required to log every shipment both outbound from the Swiftwater site, intra-site transports and anything that is received in by Logistics to ship at a later date. This is critical to account for our workload, supplies being used, volumes for each type of shipment and temperature. The role is required to provide department activity metrics, and report to Manager, Logistics Ops.

  • Proactively communicate shipment status to internal and external customers

Material Handling/Physical Shipment Processing

  • Responsible to perform physical logistical movements of material from docks to trucks (temperature controlled and dry), air cargo containers, passive shipping containers and ocean containers. Must maintain certification to allow for the use of required material handling equipment to perform material movements.

SAP/Inventory Control

  • Shipments that flow though the site ERP system must be properly transacted out of inventory. This would require bin to bin movements, goods issued to cost centers, processing of sales orders or sub-contracting to site contract manufacturers. Support inventory control and cycle count activities for all department managed SAP bins.

Receiving/Warehousing

  • Working with the Warehouse Operations team to assist in unloading trucks, labeling of pallets and material, and put aways in the warehouse. Goods Issue to Cost Center or Bin to Bin transfer for subsequent Good Issue to Process Order.

Project work as assigned

  • Assist the Manager of Logistics Operations on all project support with department Transportation Management Systems, AES filing systems, shipping request process changes, building remediations, etc.

About You

Education/experience

  • High School degree

  • Extensive experience with shipping multi-mode (truck, air, ocean, etc) and intermodal

  • Extensive experience with shipping document generations (Bill’s of Lading, Packing List, Invoices, etc)

  • ERP/WMS/TMS experience preferred (i.e. SAP)

  • Powered Material Handling equipment

  • Manual Material Handling equipment

  • Able to obtain TSA clearance to pre-screen air cargo shipments

  • Valid driver's license (clean driving record), ability to obtain DOT medical release

Certifications

  • Forklift Certification (required within one year of start date)

  • TSA screener clearance (required within one year of start date)

  • DG shipping of DOT and IATA shipments (required within one year of start date))

The salary range for this position is:

$23.51 - $31.35
