Our Team:

An assistant brand manager manages marketing activities of an assigned brand under supervision by a brand manager and a brand lead. The projects can include a whole range of marketing activities or some parts of them: new product development, brand strategy development, promotion activities such as advertising development, annual brand plan development, and management. The person is expected to collaborate with and potentially lead a functional brand team of R&D, regulatory, medical, trade & shipper marketing, finance, etc.

Main responsibilities:

CORE BRAND/BUSINESS ACTIVITY:

Take responsibility for assigned projects:

  • mid-long term brand visions, goals, objectives, and strategy.

  • Annual budget – sales and profit.

  • Brand activities internally and externally.

BRAND MANAGEMENT:

Take responsibility for assigned projects:

  • Brand marketing plans to grow the business.

  • Sales results – drives a multi-function team.

NPD (new product development):

Take responsibility for assigned projects:

  • Product concepts - proposition and claims.

  • NPD management - scheduling, forecasting, internal approval, etc.

  • Package design.

  • Consumer research to define the project direction.

Contribution to the team and division:

Take responsibility for assigned projects:

Team collaboration:

  • Leadership on a brand team, including B&I marketing, B&I shopper marketing, IPD (Innovation Planning and Development), and others.

  • Organization Process:

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects to improve operational efficiency and capability.

Comments: Depending on your level, an Associate Brand manager is expected to support the brand manager in delivering results or to lead a cross-functional team on assigned brand projects, managing internal and external resources such as agencies.

About you

Experience:

Education:

  • Academic education, preferably business administration

  • Preferably in Marketing, Psychology, Behavior Science, Economics, or a related educational background.

Languages:

The ideal candidate for this position must be fluent in both English and Japanese, as they will be required to communicate effectively in a business setting in Japan and with regional stakeholders and participate in global business interactions.

Knowledge, experiences and skills required:

  • Must have 3+ years experience in FMCG marketing

  • Interested in science and has a genuine passion for making people’s lives healthier

  • Proactive in learning and demonstrating a strong challenger mindset

  • Strong strategic and logical thinking backed with deep understanding of consumer insights and market & brand performance data

  • Strong creativity

  • Previous experience in external agency management preferred

  • Must have strong analytical thinking and skills

  • Problem solving and PDCA skills

  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and ability to manage project to deliver projects on time with high quality

Languages: (mandatory)
