The Director of Business Operations and Systems is a Site based strategic leadership role focused on optimizing business processes and driving data-driven decision making across manufacturing operations for the Drug Product APU. This position ensures effective and efficient utilization of human capital and provides systems support and data solutions through three interconnected workstreams, while partnering with Operational Excellence, Finance and Supply Chain. The role champions the adoption of advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions to drive financial results across Formulation, Filling, Inspection, and Packaging (FFIP) operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Development

  • Set clear objectives and KPIs for direct reports aligned with organizational goals

  • Drive team performance through regular coaching and development sessions

  • Establish quarterly business reviews to track progress and adjust strategies

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Manage resource allocation across projects and operational activities

Manufacturing Data Strategy and Process Excellence

  • Lead the business process responsibilities in SAP and other tools’ master data for FFIP, in collaboration and alignment with Business System Owners locally and globally

  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality and accessibility across FFIP functions

  • Partner with Smart Factory and Digital teams to define specific business requirements and process improvements

  • Champion data-driven decision making and predictive analytics adoption at the shop floor level

  • Identify opportunities for AI/ML implementation in manufacturing processes, such as predictive maintenance, quality optimization, and yield improvement

  • Implement industry-leading visualization tools and/or “core model” tools (e.g., Power BI, etc) to create real-time performance dashboards tracking OEE, yield, cycle time, and quality metrics and share those across departments

Digital Manufacturing Process Integration

  • Be the SPOC for FFIP with Smart Factory teams

  • Define business requirements and processes for serialization, electronic logbooks, and electronic batch records

  • Lead change management initiatives for digital transformation projects impacting core operations

  • Ensure business processes align with regulatory requirements and industry standards

  • Collaborate with digital teams to implement AI-powered solutions for process optimization

  • Drive the adoption of machine learning models for production resource planning and efficiency

  • Oversee implementation of digital twin technology and process simulation tools to optimize manufacturing flows

Strategic Business Planning and Performance Management

  • Develop data-driven approaches for operational budget planning and execution

  • Implement predictive analytics for headcount planning and resource optimization

  • Lead strategic planning processes incorporating AI-driven insights

  • Establish KPIs and analytics frameworks for performance monitoring

  • Drive the integration of AI/ML models to optimize resource allocation based on the production forecast from 1 month up to 3 year horizon in collaboration with Supply Chain

Workforce and Operational Excellence

  • Partner with FFIP production leaders to refine operational plans and execution strategies

  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs for manufacturing personnel

  • Develop efficient onboarding and offboarding processes for flexible workforce management

  • Create capacity planning models that optimize core and flexible workforce utilization

  • Implement workforce analytics tools (e.g., Workday Analytics, UKG) to track productivity, skills gaps, and training effectiveness

  • Collaborate with production leaders to establish standard work and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in production leadership roles

  • Strong understanding of data analytics, AI/ML applications in manufacturing

  • Experience in process optimization, improvement and change management

  • Proven track record in strategic planning and performance management

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, systems and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills

The salary range for this position is:

$148,125.00 - $213,958.33
