As a Statistics Team Leader within our R&D Statistics & Programming team in Barcelona, you will report directly to the Head of R&D Statistics & Programming. You will provide leadership, guidance, and strategic input as a team manager and lead statistician on one or more project teams, accountable for all statistical aspects of assigned projects.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of statistics and programming team leaders, principal and senior statisticians. Define team members’ priorities, conduct performance reviews, and identify development areas. Responsible for appropriate resource planning and allocation. Promote teamwork, quality, operational efficiency, and innovation. Create a productive work environment and ensure team compliance with SOPs and departmental standards
- Provide statistical leadership and direct statistical support for assigned projects. Accountable for statistical aspects of early or late clinical development, medical affairs, and/or translational medicine plans, studies, and submission activities (when applicable), ensuring quality, relevance to external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory authorities, medical journals), and scientific validity
- Ensure productive collaboration with other functions in project teams, with other statistics project leaders, and in communication with senior leadership
- Represent statistics in regulatory meetings
- Represent statistics by participating in and leading key cross-functional initiatives
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and development plans for your direct team
- Define training plans and coordinate continuous training for junior staff in alignment with TA Heads
About you
Experience:
- PhD/MS in Statistics or a related discipline with at least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in managing projects and 5 years of experience in people management
- Proven successful experience in clinical development including complex and large clinical programs and/or post-marketing activities such as submissions and interactions with regulatory agencies or other external stakeholders
- Broad experience in various relevant therapeutic areas is desired
Soft and technical skills:
- Strong project management, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Broad knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development and regulatory requirements
- Excellent understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques
- Excellent R/SAS programming skills
Education:
- PhD/MS in Statistics or a related discipline
Languages:
- Excellent oral and written English skills
