Strategic Context:
Currently, Sanofi has the most robust pipeline and forthcoming product launches in the company’s history. As the part of our Take-the-Lead strategy, Sanofi must appropriately support this pipeline to materialize our vision of delivering scientific miracles to patients worldwide. Thus, modernizing the Sanofi operational structure is also required. In line with this, project DRIVE is shepherding change throughout the organization and created the development of the Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.
The new GTMC organization is charged with delivering best-in-class capabilities to bring speed and increased value to commercial operations. It will refine priorities across products, markets, and the pipeline through dynamic resources allocation and efficiencies. Silos that existed between business units as well as duplicative and overlapping resources will be replaced with standardized processes and tools. Operating with a One Sanofi mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, GTMC will accelerate and improve key capabilities to do more with less and facilitate the best-informed strategic decision making across the organization.
The GTMC organization aims to:
Centralize Go-to-Market operational tasks across GBUs
Standardize best in class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure within GTMC from local to global
Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency
The Data Management Lead is responsible for efforts to execute Sanofi’s data management strategy through leadership in data stewardship and related business analytics and operations initiatives for the local country cluster. This role will be a local specialist for all Global tools and platforms while promoting the usage of these tools to all the local business unit users as well as managing region-specific tools if any (Adapt projects). The role will also work closely with Hub team to operate data management activities for business continuity. The lead communicates effectively with both technical and business leadership to ensure successful deployment for both localization of global platforms or local proprietary needs.
This position will report to the Head of Insights & Analytics of Japan and will be based in Tokyo office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to
Lead the local data management strategy with key focus on harmonization across platforms, introduction of data standards, and governance across business teams. Champions best practices in data management across markets
Provide guidance to local Brand, Sales, and Marketing teams for using data, tools, and platforms
Collaborate with local Brand, Sales, and Marketing teams to align with business updates such as new product launches / alignment changes or new promotional campaigns
Maintain and as needed transition any Local markets/ Local applications/ Local reference data to Global platforms
Collaborate with the global team to understand new updates for Global solutions and serve as an advocate to ensure local needs are accommodated in Global solutions
Join forces with global team on managing master data and data anomalies(inquires) with a focus on Local needs
Oversee the service requests and inquires raised by local team members.
Oversee the region-specific data/tools and inform the partners in case of change in schedule or data outage
Local Sanofi POC for the DaaS support service and data inquires
Manage the Reference data sets to support local Business needs(Product, Corporations, Market definitions, Reference Originators, Molecule Lists, Specialty list, alignment, segmentation, Drug Class and others)
Matching and Merge Products in One Product
Manage training and communication Materials (Audio and visual) for the local users
Support data integration of local data with other foundational data products
Support ad-hoc market tracking and performance tracking tasks if needed
Ensure data quality, compliance and consistency of master data across business systems
Support the business with required procedures, submit incidents and change requests when needed
Drive Operational efficiencies: Support the development and refinement of key data-related policies, playbook, and support system adoption through processes and clearly defined KPIs.
Actively participate in strategic data discussions across the organization, seeking to mature data practices and evolve the use of data to offer new ways to improve operational efficiency.
Be a change champion and an advocator for deploying technology with a tangible business value.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; (Analytics, Business, or Information Systems related is preferred)
Skills and Competencies
5+ years of relevant experience in biopharma industry with 3+ years in data operations, and/or BI
Familiarity with local Pharma business landscape (Viz. is the vaccine market Private or tender based, Patient count calculations for specialty care brands, Products promoted locally, Sales team structure)
Strong working knowledge and experience of working with analytical programming (e.g., SQL, R, Python), experience with Snowflake preferred.
Strong understanding of data modelling and analytics tools, and machine learning models
Expertise in agile or iterative project execution methodologies.
Experience with master data management / data governance ; data quality tools and techniques (e.g., data profiling, cleansing, matching)
Experience with data and analytics environments for tracking and reporting KPIs.
Experience in BI product development or BI transformation. Proven success in implementing BI and innovative solution.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage change and drive innovation.
Experience in leading IT and business into new technologies and open to new ideas.
Strong ability to connect unrelated concepts and generate original or unique ideas.
