Sanofi, Swiftwater, PA site is the vaccines division of Sanofi. We believe in a world in which no one suffers or dies from a vaccine-preventable disease. The Swiftwater site is located in northeast Pennsylvania and is home to the production of over 140 million doses of vaccine each year.

The FFIP (Formulation, Filling, Inspection and Packaging) QS (Quality Systems) department drives the vaccines production Quality performance. QS monitors lot and campaign trends and implements opportunities for equipment, product, and production improvement(s). FFIP QS implements meaningful and robust CAPAs to improve overall Quality and reduce recurrence of events.

A close collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, Business Systems, and Continuous Improvement to ensure that the processes for new vaccines are as innovative and standardized as possible to guarantee efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and rapid time to market of quality vaccines. It is a multi-disciplinary function that provides expertise in formulation and filling manufacturing process; continuous process monitoring, process equipment troubleshooting and meet the Health Authorities commitment.

The Data Engineer within the FFIP QS (Formulation, Filling, Inspection and) function of Manufacturing and Supply (M&S) Vaccines will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions that will enable Manufacturing to optimize the production cycle(s) and equipment. In addition to applying advanced data science and teamwork skills on a daily basis, this role interacts cross functionally to scientifically predict the performance and outcomes associated with each of the products manufactured within FFIP.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in solving process related problems by ensuring the collection, management, and analysis of quality data.

  • Conduct quality assurance of collected data and expand the core concepts of data governance within the organization.

  • Responsible for automating data pipelines and creating dashboards/reports that will help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.

  • Assist with activities such as Statistical Process Control, data mining, and process modeling.

  • Provide support for internally managed servers.

  • Participate in modeling initiatives through data acquisition and visualization of key results AND life cycle improvements of existing vaccines processes.

  • Support the global evolution of data science and support its implementation at the site.

  • Promote innovation at the site.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Operational Research or other related field

  • 0-2 years’ experience in object-oriented programming languages including Python, R, and one or more object-oriented languages.

  • 0-2 years’ experience of one or more data visualizations tools such as Power BI, R libraries, Python libraries, SeeQ, etc…

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Operational Research or other related field.

  • 0-2 Year is Pharmaceutical Industry experience

  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL.

  • Experience with cloud technologies, cloud application deployment, and web development framework (AWS a plus)

  • Exposure to statistical programming languages such as SAS, JMP, R, etc…

  • Command line skills (bash, windows, Linux)

  • Familiarity with biologic processes is a plus

The salary range for this position is:

$67,500.00 - $112,500.00
