About the Job

Our Hubs are a crucial part of how we innovate, improving performance across every Sanofi department and providing a springboard for the amazing work we do. Build a career and you can be part of transforming our business while helping to change millions of lives. Ready?

We are seeking a dynamic Product Owner with strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to support our scientific research activities. This role will serve as the primary point of contact between R&D stakeholders and platform teams, ensuring the reliable delivery and support of data and compute platforms. The ideal candidate will combine customer-facing leadership with enough technical fluency to understand scientific workflows and platform capabilities, while overseeing a network of Product/Platform Liaisons who connect with specific platforms or products.

Each Product/Platform Liaison typically works with a group of DevOps Engineers who handle the operational support and day-to-day maintenance of their assigned platform or product. The Product Owner provides overall coordination, ensuring these resources are effectively aligned to R&D priorities, and that delivery and support remain consistent, efficient, and transparent.

This position is hands-on and customer-focused, requiring close engagement with scientists and R&D groups to understand their needs. While platform governance and deep technical delivery remain the responsibility of the platform teams, the Product Owner is accountable for orchestrating support, coordinating liaisons, and ensuring R&D users experience reliable, efficient, and well-communicated services.

We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer-facing leader for R&D data and compute platforms, ensuring effective delivery and support for scientific users.

  • Coordinate and oversee the work of Product/Platform Liaisons and the DevOps Engineers supporting their respective platforms or products.

  • Engage closely with R&D scientists to capture requirements, resolve issues, and translate research needs into platform support actions.

  • Partner with platform engineering teams to ensure operational reliability, efficient onboarding, and clear communication with customers.

  • Maintain visibility into platform usage, adoption, and performance, escalating issues and driving resolution with efficiency and clarity.

  • Support incident management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts across platforms, ensuring transparency with stakeholders.

  • Champion customer experience by simplifying technical topics, providing clear status updates, and fostering trust with R&D stakeholders.

  • Ensure proper oversight of access, cost, and scalability in collaboration with platform teams.

  • Prepare platforms and processes for eventual transition of support to other organizations when appropriate, ensuring maturity and stability.

About You

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years product management experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with proven ability to engage with researchers, simplify technical topics, and lead discussions.

  • Hands-on experience coordinating delivery and support for technology platforms, ideally in R&D or scientific environments.

  • Technical fluency in data and compute platforms, cloud concepts (AWS), and scientific workflows to engage credibly with stakeholders.

  • Experience working in cross-functional environments, translating customer requirements into platform support activities.

  • Proven ability to coordinate work across internal and external resources, balancing priorities and driving efficient resolution.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with Agile or SAFe practices, with a product ownership or customer engagement background.

  • Exposure to containerized workloads or workflow orchestration tools.

  • Familiarity with scientific applications and workflows (e.g., RStudio, HealthOMICS, Nextflow, CryoSPARC, Relion, Schrödinger, Amber, Gromacs).

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing leadership role supporting R&D or technical/scientific platforms.
