Payroll Assistant

About the role

As a Payroll Assistant, you’ll provide essential support to our ANZ & Korea payroll teams, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. You’ll be involved in post-payroll activities, data validation, reporting, and employee support. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn end-to-end payroll processes and work across international payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute post-payroll tasks including journal ledger preparation and finance submissions
• Respond to finance and account team queries
• Support monthly superannuation and pension submissions
• Review payroll data as a second checker
• Assist with termination pay calculations
• Act as payroll backup during leave periods
• Generate ad hoc reports and analysis
• Respond to employee queries via ServiceNow (Tier 1 support)
• Support benefits administration and onboarding processes
• Assist with payroll tax calculations and government submissions
• Participate in internal and external audits

About You

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role (or strong willingness to learn)
• Certificate or diploma in business, accounting, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs)
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Friendly, dependable, and eager to learn

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Korean language skills (spoken and written)
• Global payroll systems (iChris for Australia, Strada for Korea)
