Job Title: Associate Director, Global Neurology Pipeline Communications

Location: Cambridge, MA Washington, DC (Hybrid: in-office requirement 3 days per week)

About the Job

Sanofi is looking for a proactive, high-energy Associate Director of Neurology Pipeline Communications to support strategy and execution of our communications programs designed to prepare global markets for future neurology assets in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a rare neurological disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. The position will report to the Global Head of Neurology Communications and will be based at one of our key US sites (Cambridge, Massachusetts, or Washington D.C.).

This role includes strategic development and execution of clinical data and regulatory milestones; congress and publication communications; scientific platform communications for lay audiences; unbranded awareness campaigns; and executive thought leadership campaigns.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive global external communications strategy that advances business goals for the franchise; Support internal communications priorities, as needed

  • Direct and deliver effective thought leadership communications

  • Partner closely with Patient Experience and Public Affairs on development and execution of global unbranded disease state education campaigns

  • Understand the competitive CIDP and Alzheimer’s landscape and ensure strategic positioning for the brand

  • Work closely with the Heads of Communications and partners across functions to ensure alignment with global strategies (commercial, medical, market access, communications, HEOR, R&D, etc.)

  • Work in alignment with Global Media Relations and Investor Relations to ensure development of impactful external communications relating to the neuroscience pipeline

  • Work with priority and international markets to ensure the successful execution of the global brand communications strategy while ensuring support for local communications tactics

  • Oversee day-to-day management of communications agencies, including budget oversight

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop awareness campaigns and mobilize action

About You

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Passionate about the pharmaceutical industry and the work we do for patients

  • Strong healthcare and scientific data aptitude with experience managing product and regulatory milestone communications independently

  • Expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives

  • Possess good working knowledge of the digital and social media landscape in engaging audiences, with the ability to deliver innovative approaches and plans within this growing and important space

  • An understanding of how to utilize data for planning, optimizing and reporting – outcomes-based communications.

  • Works well under pressure, including tight timelines

  • Can juggle multiple projects simultaneously

  • A strategic thinker who is willing to challenge the status quo

  • Proactive and able to work independently and interdependently in a team environment

  • Good networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Good collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders

  • Good project management skills

  • Strong issues management capabilities

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or a related scientific field is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of corporate communications experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology area is required (product communications, agency experience preferred)

  • Experience in pharmaceutical product areas is required

  • Ability to travel 20% overall

The salary range for this position is:

$114,750.00 - $165,750.00
