Business Operations plays a key role for Sanofi in modernizing the way we work by setting the new leading standard, enforcing stronger policy adherence and significant operational improvements. The re-imagined end-to-end process will strategically improve and automate areas of Source to Pay to deliver significant value and empower Sanofians to make more strategic decisions.

Reporting to the Global Process Owner Source-to-Pay (S2P), the Requisition to Receipt Global Process Lead is responsible for leading the global strategy, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, specifically focusing on the requisition to receipt phase. In this role, you will ensures efficient and compliant procurement processes typically driving the organisations transactional matching strategy to ensure payment commensurate to goods received.

Responsibilities

Process Design & Optimization:

  • Design fit for purpose requisition to receipt processes, ensuring first time match rates and eliminating manual interventions where possible
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Operate to, and promote, standardized and harmonized ways of working to ensure global consistency in the execution of requisition to receipt processes across all global locations
  • Develop and maintain global requisition to receipt policies, procedures, and best practices

Stakeholder Management & Customer Centricity:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve requisition to receipt efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments and geographical locations to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure buy-in for process improvements
  • Provide guidance on how to best translate procurement processes into transactional matching to ensure minimal exceptions in the invoicing and payment processes
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Procurement, Finance, Legal, GBUs, and Corporate Functions

Technology & Tooling:

  • Implement and manage technology solutions to support the requisition to receipt process
  • Work with IT and other relevant teams to select, implement, and maintain tools used to support a streamlined requisition to receipt process. This includes evaluating existing systems and recommending improvements or replacements
  • Understand and leverage AI technologies and future possibilities to enhance the S2P function, driving innovation and strategic advantages
  • Ensure data integrity within S2P and contribute to Data Governance initiatives
  • Lead initiatives to drive best solution usage, user experience and automation as part of continuous improvement

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Ensure Internal Control and compliance requirements are embedded in requisition to receipt process design
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with approval workflows, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
  • Monitor compliance with relevant regulations and policies, establish periodic self-auditing frameworks to proactively identify gaps

Change, Training & Documentation:

  • Develop and deliver training materials and documentation to support the effective implementation and use of requisition to receipt processes and new technologies

  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies across the organization

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Establish clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage and report on requisition to receipt process

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on the effectiveness of the processes, identifying areas for improvement and tracking progress against targets

  • Measure first time match rate and implement corrective actions

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on performance data and track value generated from continuous improvement projects

  • Evaluate requisition to receipt process maturity & performance through benchmarking

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience in Purchase to Pay, ideally within a large, multinational organization
  • Deep understanding of P2P processes and best practices
  • Strong process improvement skills, including experience with methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Experience with P2P systems and related technologies
  • Project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Supply Chain Management). A relevant professional qualification (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence to drive adoption of standardized processes
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time

Preferred:

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Procurement Professional (CPP)
  • Experience in healthcare and/or life-science industry
  • Experience in establishing and developing shared service capabilities and services.
  • Knowledge of SOX and fundamental accounting principles
  • Experience with SAP / Concur etc..
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and intellectual curiosity
  • Developed business partnering, collaboration, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior level stakeholders.
  • Ability to work transversally and within a highly matrixed environment.
  • Global or international experience and ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Prior BPO management experience.
