As a GM&E Hub Manager within our Global Meetings & Events, within the Procurement Services tower, you’ll lead a team of Events & Engagement Specialists and/or Analysts supporting internal and HCP-related events for a specific GBU/Geography as applicable. Main responsibilities:

The GM&E Hub Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Events & Engagement Specialists and/or Analysts to ensure the smooth execution of event operations, including HCP engagement, contracting, payments, and compliance. The role focuses on day-to-day team supervision, operational planning, and collaboration with in-country leads to deliver high-quality, compliant, and efficient support across therapy areas and GBUs.

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of 8 to 12 Event & Engagement Specialists/Analysts, ensuring efficient delivery of support services, compliance, and adherence to defined timelines and standards.

  • Supervise day-to-day operations including planning, resource allocation, coordination of events (e.g., standalone meetings, congresses, advisory boards), and adherence to KPI expectations.

  • Act as the primary point of escalation for operational issues raised by your team, resolving them efficiently or escalating to the Hub Lead when necessary.

  • Collaborate with In-country Leads to:

  • Align on team assignments to geographies or business units.

  • Set team-level goals, success metrics, and annual objectives.

  • Monitor KPIs, delivery performance, and address productivity or quality concerns.

  • Evaluate performance and potential of team members and co-develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

  • Coordinate equitable workload distribution, flag absences/disruptions, and align on leave approvals during peak periods.

  • Align on resource constraints, risk mitigation, and local process improvements.

  • Provide onboarding, local training, and continuous learning opportunities on tools and GM&E systems to ensure upskilling and role clarity.

  • Track project milestones, team KPIs, and delivery metrics, and provide regular performance updates to the Hub Lead, In-country Lead and stakeholders.

  • Participate in regular governance reviews with Hub Leads and In-country Leads to assess performance metrics, align on priorities, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Identify recurring inefficiencies or transition opportunities from vendors to internal teams and support knowledge transfer.

  • Ensure compliance with FMV principles, internal controls, and regulatory standards across all team deliverables.

  • Manage hybrid/on-site support for hub-based colleagues, including equipment needs and workspace logistics.

  • Foster a positive, engaged team culture by promoting collaboration, recognition, and cross-training initiatives.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and tool adoption in alignment with GM&E’s transformation agenda.

About you

  • Experience: 7–10 years of relevant experience in Events/Project Management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. At least 2 years of experience in a people management or team lead capacity. Experience working in a matrix environment with regional or global stakeholders will be a plus.

  • Soft Skills & Technical Skills: Strong people management and coaching capabilities. Good communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to prioritize, manage ambiguity, and resolve issues proactively. Comfortable working across cultures and time zones. Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and SharePoint. Familiarity with event platforms like One CRM, Cvent, SpotMe, and other compliance tools is desirable.

  • Education: Graduate or Postgraduate in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related fields, Project management or meetings/events certifications are a plus.

  • Languages: Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
