About the Job

Join Sanofi's cutting-edge Target, Disease and Systems Biology (TDSB) team, where we're pushing the boundaries of drug discovery through advanced human genetics and genomics. As part of our Global Research organization, you'll work alongside world-class in-silico and experimental scientists dedicated to accelerating breakthrough treatments in oncology, ophthalmology, immunology, inflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases. Within our Disease Genetics and Genomics lab in the Computational Biology cluster, you'll play a pivotal role in:

  • Driving genetic insights impacting all Sanofi therapeutic areas, from early discovery to clinical development

  • Leading Sanofi's participation in top genetic consortia, including FinnGen and Open Targets

  • Shaping the future of precision medicine through innovative genetic approaches

You will work in an agile environment in a group with industry-leading infrastructure for integrated genetic evidence generation and have the opportunity to further consolidate new methodologies to strengthen our capabilities. Our team is working in close proximity and direct collaboration with a large number of therapeutic programs and biological teams, ensuring our genetic insights have immediate, tangible impact on real drug discovery projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide human genetic insight to support target discovery, target credentialing, indication selection and expansion, and patient stratification for Sanofi R&D programs in immunology, ophthalmology, neurology, oncology and in new emerging therapeutic areas.

  • Implement and develop innovative statistical genetic methods to analyze population scale genetic cohorts across multiple biobanks and integrate genetic, epigenetic and multi-omics data for target, cell type, pathway, and indication prioritization.

  • Lead strategic partnerships with top-tier academic institutions and consortia.

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that shape Sanofi's therapeutic strategy, including target discovery campaigns, indication positioning and expansion.

  • Contribute to publications, research and clinical/regulatory documentation.

About You

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Human Genetics or related field with 3+ years of experience in biopharma or leading academic institutions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in disease genetics, particularly in immunology, ophthalmology, or neurology.

  • Advanced proficiency in statistical genetics, including: GWAS, QTL analysis, burden tests, Mendelian randomization, Colocalization analysis, Polygenic risk scores.

  • Proven experience with complex Electronic Health Records (EHR) datasets and OMOP models - Desirable

  • Track record of leading large cross-functional teams (10+ members).

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments

  • Experience working in Trusted Research Environments (TREs) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP).

  • Strong publication record and ability to author high-impact scientific papers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of biological and medical concepts and ability to communicate with non-computational audience.

  • Experience in AI applications in genomics or agentic AI.

  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and patient stratification strategies.

  • Experience with multi-model data integration (genetics, epigenetics, transcriptomics, single cell, proteomics).

  • Experience in population scale proteomics.

  • Experience developing scalable code and data infrastructure.

  • Experience mentoring junior scientists and fostering team development.

The salary range for this position is:

$100.500,00 - $145.166,66
