About the job

As North Europe Patient Engagement Lead GenMed within our Public Affairs Department, you’ll unlock the Patient Engagement potential of our Multi-Country Organisation by providing strategic Patient Engagement advice to the North Europe General Medicine Business Unit and fostering cross-country synergy between national teams in the North Europe region when developing and executing patient engagement strategies and activities to successfully secure patient’s access to medicines. At the national level, the objective is to shape and implement the patient engagement strategies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

This role works at a North Europe level and will cover all countries in our MCO (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway). In addition, this role is a first point of contact for global colleagues relating to patient engagement.

The primary focus is the aT1D therapeutic area and more broadly the therapeutic areas in our Global Business Units General Medicine. The North Europe Patient Engagement Lead GenMed is based in one of the North Europe countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway), reports into the North Europe MCO Public Affairs Coordinator and has a dotted line to the North Europe GenMed leadership team. The teams works closely with the teams from the Global Business Units General Medicine, market access, medical colleagues and other relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities: At the North Europe level

Patient engagement impact

  • Drive the North Europe patient engagement strategy for aT1D, aligned with the franchise’s objectives.
  • Develop and implement (cross-)country patient engagement strategies and projects, such as websites, patient materials, and other products, that stimulate standardisation, efficiency and impact.
  • Increase our impact for patients and strengthen patient engagement throughout North Europe.
  • Develop and execute the patient engagement strategy.
  • Develop and implement our (digital) assets for patient engagement.
  • Content creation, where necessary in collaboration with PAGs, to optimally engage with patients.
  • Overall (Social) Media strategy for patient engagement.
  • Partner with PAGs and HCPs to build long-term relationships and drive co-creation projects on the level of education, diagnosis, monitoring and (home care) treatment, which contribute to improved patient care.
  • Manage PSPs (patient support programmes).
  • Adhere to the policies, standard operating procedures, and regulations both from a Country and Sanofi perspective to maintain the highest standard of compliance, ethics, and business integrity.
  • Continuously stretch oneself to improve, simplify and prioritize within one’s area of influence with a focus on adding value.

Cross-Country Synergy:

  • Coordinate joint North Europe Region Patient engagement meetings and activities that stimulate collaboration.
  • Identify, explore and realise synergies between countries that create added value for local patient engagement efforts.

Strategic Advice:

  • Provide strategic patient engagement advice to the North Europe franchise teams in strategy development and execution, such as brand plans and brand teams.

Internal Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment:

  • Inform and update relevant internal stakeholders such as North Europe MCO Public Affairs coordinator, GenMed franchise teams, local (MA)PA heads, global and Europe (Key Markets) PA teams, medical/commercial teams.

About you

Experience:

  • Strong track record in patient engagement or with stakeholder engagement.
  • Preferably for the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Deep understanding of the national health care systems in North Europe.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field (Health Sciences, Communication) or equivalent experience. Medical degree (pharmacist, doctor) is welcomed.

Languages:

  • Excellent command of English and the national language where applied, both verbal and written, is a strict requirement.
