About the job
Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

As Regional Category Manage Europe, Greater China & JPAC in Supply Chain Distribution domain, you will be responsible for leading a pool of category buyers and developing & executing regional distribution (warehousing and domestic transportation) sourcing strategies according to business partner's needs.
Main responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance
Adapt, implement & execute competitive and innovative global category strategies, based on market intelligence: assessing risks and opportunities, fully aligned on budget & LRPs, delivering value to the business
Deliver world class total savings objectives at regional and country level
Ensure procurement technical excellence (Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…)
Monitor global market trends, supplier innovations, and emerging technologies in distribution
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key global partners
Lead supplier negotiations to ensure favorable commercial terms and service level agreements
Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Operations Management
Contribute and build within her/his network an ambitious budget and LRP/Strat Plan according to stakeholders’ priorities and participate to cross domain reviews
Step-in in the key regional negotiations as well as any major country projects and/or supplier issues
Drive the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc.)
Develop and implement solid Business engagement plans with the GBUs, the Procurement Centre of Excellence and Business Operations
Evaluate and adopt new technologies (e.g., Gen AI, visibility tools, sustainability initiatives) to enhance distribution capabilities
Manage cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic initiatives and achieve procurement goals
Stakeholder Management
Ensure with Global Procurement Operations (Country Procurement Heads), the proper business partnering in countries & regions, as it pertains to their respective categories,
Engage upfront Senior regional leaders of Global Business Units and Support Functions
Leverage Country Procurement Heads to ensure procurement strategies are applicable at local level
Procurement risk management, Compliance, Ethics and CSR
Lead Audit management, ensure compliance with code of ethics, ensure meeting all targets for diversity, environment and inclusion. Aggressively promote sustainable sourcing
People Management
Secure the proper resources allocation and means according to category’s own objectives as well as business priorities
Onboard, develop and manage regional buyers and other resources under their responsibility
Ensure procurement management excellence: regional category team management allocation, regional lead specifiers collaborative relationship, usage & leverage of procurement academy, talent management
About you
Experience 10+ years of relevant experience in a multi-national environment
Soft Skills/Technical skills
Strong Knowledge of best-in-class Supply Chain Warehousing & Distribution Category Management techniques and processes
Proven team leadership records for leading multi-cultural teams with complexity
Possesses strong competency in networking across various stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
Proven ability to influence across all Management levels and across Business functions
Demonstrable skills in leading and deploying change management initiatives related to accountabilities of the role
Strong communicator with ability to adapt style and approach according to audience
Consistency of focus upon delivery of outcomes and results
High level of analytical skills and ability to utilize tools/systems accordingly
Ability to work independently to multiple timescales on multiple concurrent priorities/projects
Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills and then disseminate to others in an easily understood fashion
Holds an international and multicultural mindset and experience
Demonstrates willingness and ability to challenge the status quo
Role model in compliance and ethics
Education : Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Languages: Fluent in English is a must, other local/Regional languages is a plus
% of travel expected: 30%
