Your job, as Global Category Buyer for External Manufacturing based in China, will be to manage Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) across the JPAC (Japan & Asia Pacific) region for Small Molecules, Large Molecules, and Vaccines External manufacturing Business. You will ensure the selection of high-quality CMOs in alignment with our commercial manufacturing strategy. Your fact-based negotiations and performance-based contracting will safeguard our company's interests while driving value across the entire supply chain.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing of goods and services within External Manufacturing & Supply activities for Small Molecules, Large Molecules, and Vaccines business in the APAC region

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies ensuring global participation, alignment, and adoption across Japan and Asia Pacific markets

• Market Analysis, Spend Analysis, RFI/RFP/RFQ, Supplier Evaluation, Contract Negotiation, Risk Management, Compliance & SRM

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with CMOs throughout the JPAC region

• Execute and implement contracts/agreements with CMOs across all therapeutic modalities

• Align with Finance and the Business to capture and monitor external budget spends and deliver world-class total savings objectives across GBUs

• Ensure procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality) within the perimeter

Required Experience:

• Ensure procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality) within the perimeter

Technical Skills:

• Strong Knowledge of best-in-class Procurement techniques and processes

• Possesses strong competency in networking across various stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

• Strong business acumen and ability to build sustainable business connectivity. Solid listening and communication skills

• Capability to work in a matrix and complex environment

• Strong communicator with ability to adapt style and approach according to audience.

• Consistency of focus upon delivery of outcomes and results.

• High level of analytical skills and ability to utilize tools/systems accordingly.

Education

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field

• Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration or Life Sciences

Languages

• Required: Fluent in written and spoken English

• Professional working proficiency in Japanese is a plus
