STRATEGIC CONTEXT
Sanofi is implementing an ambitious plan called “DRIVE” complementing our Play to Win Strategy with 3 main objectives (i) keep fuelling our pipeline (ii) make Sanofi a modern science-driven healthcare company (iii) serving our patients.
In this context, Sanofi made the decision to evolve its commercial model from GBU-specific country organisations to a more standardized and consistent approach, boosting efficiency. The focus will be on (i) Key Markets and most innovative products as major drivers for growth and (ii) a cross-GBUs efficiency model with optimised country set-up.
Market Access MCO Lead mandate is to support execution of the Global Market Access and Pricing strategy, plans and tactics for the assigned brand(s) through best-in-class methodologies. The Market Access MCO Lead is responsible for the optimization of the access and pricing opportunity across the product lifecyle in line with the strategic brand ambition. The Market Access MCO Lead ensures the payer's voice and needs are represented for the GBU/Franchise on the market.
This is a highly collaborative role which coordinates the relevant cross-functional sub-team and that must work cohesively with market access heads of the MCO countries, International Market Access Lead. Also the successful candidate will represent the MCO in GMAx Center of Excellence, to build and execute on a successful market access and pricing plan / strategy and develop effective tools to realize the full pricing and access potential of Sanofi solutions.

The Market Access Lead is a member of the MCO/Country Leadership team.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops cross-countries “scalable” business projects and change management programs specific to Market Access, in compliance with the highest international standards and norms.
Ensures consistent strategic directions of Market Access teams is fully aligned with MCO Councils, Business Units, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory
Coordinates the integrated evidence generation plans within the MCO, becomes the payer voice during the scientific planning of the organization.
Drives the external payer world; anticipates the external pricing and reimbursement reforms and takes proactive actions.
Excellence in external engagement skills, bringing the payer voice into the organisation as well as be the Sanofi face in external payer environment.
In addition to strategic plans, the incumbent also has operational responsibilities to support optimized access conditions.
Responsible for all Market Access activities at MCO level:
Global to Local:
Adaptation of global Market Access strategy and initiatives to the market: co-develop with Global (if part of project teams) and lead localization and execution of the strategy such as:
Lead the global access strategy across the development and life-cycle management phases including external payer engagements, value and payer engagement tools and materials negotiation tool kits, mock negotiation workshops and implementation across the organization.
Lead strategic workforce planning projects with local Market Access teams as key lever towards Market Access transformation resources, capabilities and training
Local to Global
Business case development: makes sure that country MAx is leveraging sophisticated data and analytical capabilities to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation to streamline Market Access operations and accelerate time to market
Local markets business insights and levers understanding to co-develop and execute best strategies
Identify and assess potential risks related to MCO Market Access topics, including geopolitical, regulatory, and operational risks
Maintain a high level of knowledge with regards to the scientific, clinical and commercial developments in the therapeutic area(s) as well as a robust understanding of relevant recommendations, pricing and funding criteria used by payers in key markets to make informed decisions about payer strategy, plans and tactics.
Support policy/environment shaping activities to ensure value messages are acknowledged by all relevant stakeholders, including payers influencers.
Ensure on-boarding of affiliate teams, timely and aligned roll-out of Market Access deliverables across markets.
Manage the budget allocated to franchise-related projects he/she is leading, according to the brand priorities and in close partnership with the Franchise MAx and GBU MAx Heads

CRITICAL EXPERIENCES REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE (detailed)
Solid educational and professional background
Minimum 10 to 15 years of proven successful management/market access/public affiars experience.
Exposure to international environment with track record of performance in Market Access, Public Affairs
Experience with contributing to Global initiatives and local implementation
Experience in supporting access negotiations
Understanding of payer value drivers, anticipating payor objections and creation of multiple possible solutions
Demonstrated ability to leverage research, scenario analyses and payers’ insights to generate integrated market access and pricing strategies and plans to maximise product differentiation most relevant to payers
Understanding of the evolution of the market access landscape
Fluent in English and Korean
