Our Team:
The Global R&D Strategy and Portfolio Management team's overarching objective is to equip Sanofi's leaders with robust, objective and externally focused insights and recommendations they need to make better informed R&D strategy, and portfolio and project investment decisions to ensure pipeline sustainability.
We achieve this by (1) delivering a comprehensive R&D strategy positioning the organization to embrace future opportunities and challenges, driving sustained success (2) ensuring a sustainable portfolio strategy, robust valuation and prioritization of the R&D portfolio and optimization of resources, high quality pipeline reporting, benchmarking, and scientific competitive intelligence (3) ensuring high quality investment governance incorporating decision quality and thoughtful risk taking principles.
As part of the R&D Portfolio Strategy and Management team, the Competitive Intelligence group works with key stakeholders across the organization (R&D and GBUs) to deliver robust external competitive intelligence insights and ensure data-driven decision-making.
We are seeking a dynamic Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our team at our offshore hub in India. In this role, you will collect, analyze, and synthesize scientific information from a wide range of sources to generate actionable insights related to diseases, products, and technologies. These insights will support the competitive positioning of Sanofi's assets and help identify emerging risks and opportunities within the external landscape.
This position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in competitive analysis, contribute to high-impact projects, and collaborate with global stakeholders across R&D and commercial functions. You will work closely with senior CI analysts and leads as part of a global team supporting R&D strategy.
Main responsibilities:
• Analyze multiple sources of intelligence to identify relevant and reliable competitive data and assimilate it in standard deliverables. Projects may include, but are not limited to, competitive landscapes (target, disease, or technology), pipeline analyses, clinical trial tracking, company profiling, conference coverage, etc.
• Generate reports providing data analysis and visualizations that meet high quality standards; work under the supervision of the CI leader and/or CI Senior Analyst to refine the content and translate into actionable insights.
• Proactively monitor top competitors and timely communicate analysis and insights from key updates. Ensure that stakeholders participating in governance decision-making meetings have an up-to-date view of the relevant competitive situation.
• Collaborate closely with R&D Portfolio Analytics and Benchmarking teams, including contributions to industry benchmarks, ad-hoc competitive deep dives, and scenario analyses as needed.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new CI tools and platforms, including digital and AI-based solutions. Support the team in maintaining CI knowledge repositories.
About you

Experience:
5+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals industry, specifically within innovative pharma in Competitive Intelligence within a pharma company or a CI agency conducting secondary data analysis and surveillance of R&D assets (pipeline drugs, technology platforms, clinical trials). Exposure to Sanofi's therapeutic areas (Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicine) a plus.

• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse teams across geographies and functions

Technical skills:
• Solid understanding of drug discovery and development processes
• Strong research and analytical capabilities in aggregating information from multiple sources, and summarizing key points
• Experience in using online data sources (e.g., Pubmed, clinicaltrials.gov) and pharma CI databases (e.g., Citeline, Evaluate Pharma, Cortellis)
• Familiarity with clinical data, regulatory frameworks and trial designs is preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
• Analytical agility to shift between different therapeutic areas, competitors and intelligence topics as business priorities evolve
• MS-office skills (MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
Education: Master's degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field
Languages: English (all data, reports and interactions with business stakeholders are managed in English)
