About the Job
The Upstream Process Development group as a part of Manufacturing Technologies/ Industrial Affairs department supports several projects including:
Generation of recombinant baculovirus working virus banks (seeds) for manufacturing of seasonal influenza Flublok and COVID vaccines
Upstream process development at small and mid scales
Process techtransfer and yield improvement
Manufacturing support

Main Responsibilities
Responsible for leading and mentoring a team of junior personnel and educating / maintaining technical knowledge in workforce.
Oversee all aspects of baculovirus plasmid generation.
Foster a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
Perform routine molecular biology tasks such as primer design, DNA construct design, PCR amplification, cloning, plasmid purification, DNA purification, restriction endonuclease digest, DNA sequencing and analysis, bioinformatics analysis of the sequences from different databases
Design, analyze and document experiments, maintain proper records electronically and in lab notebooks
Effectively communicate results in group and department meetings
Contribute to lab organization, reagent tracking and ordering
Ensure that work performed is conducted in a safe and compliant manner in adherence with SOPs/SWIs and protocols
Coordinate data capture and tracking information
Partner with Upstream Process Development, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs teams.
Write and review protocols and reports
Serve as Molecular Biology SME to tech transfer and manufacturing support
About You
Education / Experience
Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, life sciences or other related fields.
Masters Degree in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, life sciences or other related fields. - preferred.
2+ Years Hands on experience in molecular biology with previous experience in Site Directed Mutagenesis, Gibson assembly, seamless cloning procedures
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience with purification of DNA from baculoviruses
Familiarity with Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) and Femto Pulse experiments is a plus
Experience in baculovirus protein expression system and insect cell cultures is highly desirable.
Contribute to lab organization, reagent tracking and ordering
Hands-on experience in DNA sequence analysis, construct design using SnapGene, or similar software is a plus
Ability to plan and conduct laboratory experiments, evaluate, and interpret data
Ability to work within team environment and multitasking is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize assignments
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Experience in cell culture procedures and associated aseptic techniques is a plus
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Strong experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point is important

The salary range for this position is:
$85.500,00 - $123.500,00All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
