POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Sanofi Patient Support Services (PSS) team is the cornerstone of patient access excellence, delivering comprehensive reimbursement navigation, logistics optimization, financial assistance programs, and patient education through innovative digital platforms and AI-enhanced solutions. Our cross-functional ecosystem and strategic vendor partnerships ensure the delivery of world-class services that measurably improve patient outcomes and access to life-changing therapies.

  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in patient support services, the Lead, Cross-Portfolio PSS will drive strategic transformation across the Specialty Care and General Medicine divisions while ensuring the highest standards of regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and operational excellence. This role demands expertise in patient support program compliance frameworks, financial analysis, and digital health technologies to support Sanofi's expanding portfolio of breakthrough therapies across both divisions.

  • The Lead, Patient Support Services – Program Governance is a strategic position that ensures the orchestration of all compliance and financial activities for PSS operations across all therapeutic areas within the Specialty Care and General Medicine divisions at Sanofi Canada. This role encompasses comprehensive compliance management, financial health optimization, and the integration of advanced analytics and AI/ML tools to enhance patient support delivery.

  • This position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in patient support program design, regulatory compliance, financial management, and digital health innovation. The role reports to the Head, Patient Support Services, Sanofi, and is based in Toronto (North York), ON, with hybrid work flexibility.

Main Responsibilities:

Compliance & Risk Management Excellence

  • Oversees comprehensive regulatory compliance programs including Health Canada regulations, provincial health authority requirements, and pharmaceutical advertising standards

  • Monitor compliance KPIs, deviations, CAPAs and continuous improvement actions

  • Manages privacy and data protection compliance frameworks (PIPEDA, GDPR where applicable) across all patient support activities

  • Coordinates vendor compliance management, audit processes, and risk assessment protocols

  • Implements patient support program compliance monitoring systems, SOPs, policies and develops risk mitigation strategies

  • Ensures adherence to pharmaceutical promotion and advertising compliance standards

  • Leads compliance training initiatives and maintains audit readiness across all PSS operations

Financial Health & Strategic Analysis

  • Provides subject matter expertise in financial planning, budget optimization, and resource allocation across multi-million dollar PSS portfolios spanning Specialty Care and General Medicine

  • Develops and maintains financial risk assessment frameworks and variance analysis protocols

  • Delivers executive-level financial reporting and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders

  • Optimizes budget allocation and drives operational efficiency improvements that demonstrate measurable financial impact and program value

  • Manages long-range planning (LRP) processes and ensures alignment with corporate financial objectives

Digital Innovation & Technology Integration

  • Champions the integration of cutting-edge digital health technologies, including telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring solutions

  • Leverages data analytics and AI-powered insights to optimize patient support delivery and predict access barriers

  • Drives digital transformation initiatives that enhance patient engagement and improve access outcomes

  • Collaborates with IT and digital health teams to implement next-generation patient support platforms

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Leads matrix teams and influences outcomes without direct authority across multiple therapeutic areas and business functions in both Specialty Care and General Medicine divisions

  • Represents Canadian PSS in global initiatives and facilitates cross-border collaboration with international teams

  • Manages complex vendor partnerships and strategic alliances to deliver best-in-class patient support services

  • Champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability initiatives within all PSS operations.

About You

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, Master's in Health Administration, or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

  • Healthcare compliance certifications (e.g., CHC, CCEP) or equivalent training preferred

  • Financial analysis certifications (CFA, CPA, or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • Change management certification (Prosci or equivalent) preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in patient support services, market access, or related healthcare fields

  • 4+ years of demonstrated subject matter expertise in pharmaceutical patient support programs

  • Proven experience in both pharmaceutical manufacturer and PSS vendor environments

  • Extensive background in patient support program compliance management and healthcare risk assessment

  • Strong financial analysis and budget management experience with P&L responsibility

  • Experience with digital health technologies, data analytics, and AI/ML applications in healthcare

Core Competencies:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Canadian healthcare systems, reimbursement frameworks, and regulatory requirements

  • Advanced financial modeling, analysis, and strategic planning capabilities

  • Proven track record in compliance program development and risk management

  • Exceptional leadership skills with ability to influence and drive results in complex matrix organizations

  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools, digital collaboration platforms, and project management software

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills for C-suite and board-level audiences

  • Demonstrated experience in change management and organizational transformation

  • Bilingual capabilities (English/French) strongly preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis capabilities

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Experience with CRM systems, patient support platforms, and digital health technologies

  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in healthcare and patient support optimization.
