About the Job:
The People Services Generalist Japan is a key operational role within the Japan People Life Cycle team, responsible for delivering high-quality employee lifecycle management services in alignment with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role serves as a subject matter expert for end-to-end HR processes within the Japan perimeter, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience across all lifecycle touchpoints.
The role holder works in close collaboration with Customer Service, HR Business Partners, Legal, ITS, Facilities Management, Payroll, T&E BPO partners, and HRS front-line teams across countries and regions.

Main responsibilities:
Employee Lifecycle Operations
Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes for the SAKK entity in Japan, including Onboarding, Offboarding, Job Changes, Leave of Absence, and Rehire, in accordance with SLAs
Administer all lifecycle transactions in Workday, ensuring data accuracy and timely completion of all required workflow steps
Coordinate the full onboarding experience — including employee contract creation, system setup, and stakeholder engagement — to deliver a seamless and positive new hire experience
Manage rehire processes, including Workday administration and coordination of all offline activities within scope
Administer leave of absence processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and Sanofi policies
Oversee offboarding activities, including contract-end administration and coordination of asset collection
Ensure all employee data changes are accurately reflected across all relevant systems and platforms
Manage the full lifecycle of employee documentation — including preparation, collection, validation, and archiving — in line with data privacy and compliance requirements
Service Quality & Compliance
Deliver services in full compliance with Sanofi policies, guidelines, and the Global Core Model
Monitor data quality proactively, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures before escalation
Meet and maintain operational KPIs, contributing to SLA performance reporting
Provide Level 2 support for assigned sub-processes related tickets via ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution of operational queries
Contribute to and maintain the Knowledge Database to support consistent service delivery
Anticipate operational risks and take proactive steps to mitigate disruption
Continuous Improvement & Optimization
Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of all in-scope processes and local entity requirements, acting as a super-user for relevant systems
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and elimination of redundant activities
Define business requirements for automation initiatives and support seamless adoption and transition
Participate actively in continuous improvement projects and process standardization efforts across the Japan perimeter
About You:
Education & Qualifications
Essential
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
1-2 years hands-on experience in HR operations or shared services environment
Experience in customer service or client-facing environment
Experience in international multicultural environment (essential)
Excellent Japanese skills (N1 level) and business-level English (essential)
Desirable
Certification in HR, customer service, or related field
Exposure to international or multicultural work environments
Experience with process improvement or project participation
Skills & Core Competencies

Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes and employee lifecycle management
Hands-on experience with HR/Human Capital Management systems, particularly Workday
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within defined SLAs

Experience operating within a global HR service delivery model
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills
