Summary

We are looking for a strong-generalist Founding Al Engineer to own the core Al-native systems design and development of our consumer health platform. This is a foundational role where you will make critical architectural and technical decisions that power the state-of-the-art memory, personalization, and agentic engine in health care. What you build here will directly reach your family, and loved ones, transforming their frustrating healthcare experiences into something more intuitive, intelligent, and proactive.

Description

You are excited by fast, early-stage, pre-PMF environments and thrive in high agency. You helped design or scale systems from zero to real users before. You want to build something in this world that doesn't exist yet, something you can look back on and be proud of. Ideally, you have already done this in the past in some capacity, whether at a startup, as a founding engineer, or by owning a critical system end-to-end, and are looking to do it again, at even higher impact. The product you build will set the global standard for unified health context, interpretability, and personalization in consumer healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end Al architecture of the product, from first principles systems design to production deployment. Make the right tradeoffs for speed, scalability, and future optionality.

• Build and ship full-stack features independently, moving from rough prototypes to customer-ready releases quickly.

• Partner with a lean founding team to translate product vision and roadmaр into concrete technical execution.

• Design and implement the core data, analytics, and measurement systems to understand user behavior, product performance, and growth signals.

• We are intentionally non-prescriptive about the tech stack. You set the appropriate technical standards and development practices.

Ideal Qualifications

• Proven experience shipping production-grade applied Al systems end-to-end: designing LLM agent architectures with memory and tool use, building context-aware retrieval and personalization, integrating multimodal/time-series data, and making pragmatic tradeoffs around reliability, safety, latency, and cost.

• Strong consumer product sense: product-minded engineer who deeply understands user experience, feedback loops, and real-world usage.

• Strong systems design and architectural judgment, with the ability to reason about tradeoffs across scalability, reliability, speed, and cost.

• Full-stack fluency: comfortable working across backend, frontend, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure as needed to ship end-to-end features.

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building and shipping products in early-stage or ambiguous environments. Prior Founding Engineer experience at a startup is a plus.

• Experience developing consumer software applications, especially ones that are data heavy, and specialize in personalization.

• Clear communicator and collaborator, able to work closely with founders, explain technical decisions, and influence without hierarchy.
