The Team:

Upstart’s Investor Services team is responsible for managing relationships with institutional capital investors, ensuring they have the necessary support, data, and insights to confidently invest in Upstart’s loan products. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless connection between Upstart’s borrower marketplace and the investors who provide the capital that fuels lending.

As the Loan Sales Lead at Upstart, you will own end-to-end coordination of Upstart’s multi-product loan sales, ensuring every detail—from sale dates to tape integrity—is executed with precision. You will drive process excellence across Investor Services by developing and maintaining structured workflows, improving documentation, and orchestrating communication across Capital Markets, Legal, Engineering, Servicing, and other cross-functional partners. This role is critical to building a scalable, accurate, and highly efficient loan sale engine as our product suite expands.

  • Maintain and continuously improve Investor Services’ loan sale processes—driving clarity, reducing errors, and building scalable workflows across multiple product lines.
  • Perform detailed tape scrubs to verify loan eligibility, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact execution.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for Capital Markets, Legal, Engineering, Servicing, and other partners, ensuring all stakeholders have the right information at the right time.
  • Develop, document, and operationalize new processes for emerging products (e.g., auto, HELOC), ensuring strong adherence and smooth cross-team adoption.
  • Evaluate tools, automation opportunities, and process enhancements that streamline loan sale operations and strengthen Investor Services’ overall efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in loan operations, investor services, capital markets operations, or a similar process-driven financial services role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management or workflow coordination, with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-step processes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with experience maintaining documentation, reviewing data/tapes, or validating eligibility criteria.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in fast-paced, remote environments using tools such as Slack, email, and shared documentation platforms.
  • High proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and operational tools used for tracking, organizing, or automating process workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting loan sales, securitizations, or other secondary market transactions across multiple consumer lending products.
  • Familiarity with loan tape structures, tape validation processes, and eligibility criteria for asset sales.
  • Background working with cross-functional partners such as Capital Markets, Legal, Engineering, and Servicing in a high-growth or rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience building or improving operational processes, especially in a multi-product organization.
